Working with schools
I work in partnership with schools and educational settings to provide ethical, reliable and pupil-centred counselling support. Specialising in building therapeutic relationships with young people in Alternative Provision and SEND schools, where trust, consistency and understanding are especially important.
Before training as a therapist, I worked for over 10 years within AP’s and SEND and SEMH settings. This experience shapes my understanding and approach, helping me work sensitively within the realities of school and each young persons unique life.
As a BACP-registered counsellor, my work is grounded in strong safeguarding practice, clear professional boundaries and reflective work. I use an integrative, pluralistic approach to adapt counselling to the individual needs of each pupil, while remaining mindful of the wider school environment.
I work collaboratively with headteachers, SENCOs, pastoral teams and safeguarding leads, valuing clear communication, appropriate information sharing and consistency of care for each pupil. This allows schools to feel confident that therapeutic support is aligned with their policies, culture and existing wellbeing provision.
Private Practice
Alongside my work in schools, I offer private counselling for adults and young people aged 11+. Sessions are available in person at The Treatment Rooms on Park Row in Bristol city centre, as well as online throughout the week for flexibility and accessibility.
As a pluralistic, integrative therapist, our sessions and how we work is shaped around your individual needs, preferences and goals, ensuring your choices remain central throughout the process while offering you a supportive and non judgemental space for therapy. being integrative means that I draw on a range of therapies where appropriate and in collaboration with you, some of my core practice include work with Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Behvioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) while always working from person centred & pluralistic principles.
Whether you are looking for short-term focused work or longer-term therapy, we can decide together what feels right for you and regularly review as we go.
My Approach
I utilise a variety of therapeutic modalities to best suit your needs, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Person-Centred Therapy.
Drawing on both talking and creative therapeutic approaches, I tailor sessions to each individual's needs and welcome a collaborative approach with clients. This ensures that therapy is both accessible and effective.
